What Do Committed Leaders Do?

FREEDOM NATION UNITED, where we help families to FIND Money, CREATE Income and DEVELOP Generational Wealth – for themselves, their families and those they love and care about.

AND of the the GRANDFATHER PROJECT: WHAT YOUR GRANDFATHER SHOULD HAVE TAUGHT YOUR FATHER ABOUT THE RULES OF MONEY Brown Bag Lunches

🙂

As is my custom, I was sitting with my morning beverage today going through my morning pre-game ritual, as outlined in the post Exercise – Envision – Read – Meditate – Pray – Empower .

(Yes, I do consider every day to be a present in the game of life)

I was thinking about what messages I have received that would benefit you, the reader of this Blog Post.

Suddenly it hit me like the proverbial ton-of-bricks.

What does it take to commit?

I wonder?

What does it take to be “ALL-IN”

🙂

One of the equations of success is expressed as B + C + FA = DR (Belief plus Commitment plus Focused Action equals Desired Result)

It is worthwhile, therefore, that we invest our time deciding:

WHAT DOES COMMITMENT MEAN TO EACH OF US?

🙂

It is no co-incidence that I have had the privilege of hanging out regularly with the GREAT Hector LaMarque,

a LEADER in the Company I work with

a LEADER in the Industry I work in

a LEADER By Example

a LEADER of LEADERS!

🙂

Hector has outlined 13 generic principles that apply across all industries

I share these here today to guide OUR thoughts

and, more importantly, to help us ask ourselves

“What is MY commitment?”

The committed:

🙂 Do it Today, Not Tomorrow

especially where it comes to making a change in themselves, or breaking a habit

🙂 Develop A Passion For Where They Could Be

or, the lesser alternative, an anger about their current situation

🙂 Do it for the most important person in the World… Themselves

If you don’t have control of yourself, how can you help others. Who does the airline say you should attend to first in case of an emergency, a sudden loss of pressure?

🙂 Write Down Their Exact Plan

Both the action they need to take AND the rewards for doing it

🙂 Set a Timeframe

For Example:

“I will pay off my mortgage by {month, day, year}”, OR “I know my financial independence number and I will be financially independent by …”, OR “I will have made $n,nnn, nnn PROFIT by ….”, OR  etc. etc. etc ….

Note that whether you hit it or not is not the point. You will come closer than you would without a set timeframe.

🙂 DECIDE the DAILY dose to get this done AND DO IT

We need to be persistently consistent and consistently persistent. These are things that you WILL DO – not things you wish you COULD do.

🙂 Quit what’s keeping you from winning.

Look at what is in your life that is wasting the time you need to achieve the success you DESIRE AND Quit them.

Note that this may be only temporarily till you have achieved what you set out to achieve. But obviously something you are doing today is not getting you to where you want to be, right?

🙂 Don’t Quit Just Because You Slip.

[if you fall off your achievement wagon. Get Back On It – TODAY]

Note that you don’t have to be perfect. To stand out you just have to be 15% better than the average.

🙂 Post Your Goals AND Your Achievements

Put them on Post-It Notes. When you hit YOUR goals, go public about your successes. Let the people who you rely on for support know. After all, they are investing THEIR faith in you.

🙂 Know it’s a day-by-day process

if you do the daily deeds then the passing weeks will bring the goal TO you

🙂 Change other negative habits so that the ones you have don’t overcome the positive ones.

By negative here I mean the ones slowing down your growth towards you goal

🙂 Celebrate Victories

Do something fun. This will allow your mind to equate the hard work with its fun result

🙂 Honor the crises that have occurred in YOUR life that forced the commitment to be made.

The enemy of success is comfortable, not failure. Whether it is loss of a job through no fault of your own, a bank foreclosure on your home brought about by changes in economic conditions over which you have no control, a negative medical condition that you contracted, or any other such crisis you had no control over… you have the power to decide how to react and whether to be an example to others. Your mess is, indeed, a key component of your message.

🙂

“Honor the mighty caterpillar and the toughness it took to become the magnificent butterfly!”

🙂

Again, don’t just take it from me.

You can tell Infinite Intelligence – Hector LeMarque sent you! 🙂

For myself, I hope that today’s post will underscore our commitment… TO OURSELVES.  When someone tells us they will do “Whatever It Takes” to achieve success – perhaps this elusive “whatever” has been given a definition by Hector.

  1. Wow Peter! I loved this post and it’s one of my favorites! I used to be addicted to shiny objects and drop out of doing tasks or action plans when the going got tough. Now I’m committing to a process and going all in. What’s helped me is keeping a journal writing down my goals, what I’m grateful for, and affirmations. I also have a points tracker that helps me keep on track with my goals. This post is a must read for anyone who’s going to go into business for themselves. Well done 🙂

  2. SO glad I read this this morning rather than last night because you’ve got me all pumped for the day ahead!!! Brilliant!

  3. I’m not so good at celebrating my victories, so thank you for the reminder! Blessings, Peter.

  4. Bruno Buergi says:

These are rely great principles and I completely agree with it. Constant action is what it takes to achieve the dream outcome.

So true about time wasting. You have to quit them as soon as possible. The same is also true with spending money for unnecessary things. And this money you spend for other things is missing in your business to take it to the next level.
